One of the tastiest cities in the world! I absolutely adore Barcelona. It’s some of the best people watching (along with Paris of course) in the world. The neighborhoods are so different yet share that common vibrancy and love of everything food! Tapas is my kind of eating.. little tastes of amazing foods instead of a huge plate. There are variations of the origins of “tapa”, meaning lid, and how it became a “thing”. Some say the small plates were placed onto of patrons glasses but he owners of the bars and cafe’s to keep the flies out. Others say it was tradition born from giving salty snacks to keep people drinking more! Whatever it is, I’m just glad the world has tapas!

I find it so relaxing just sitting in the cafe’s watching the world go by with a glass of wine, a beer or a coffee with a few favorite plates, reading, writing, soaking it all in. Some of the staples below.. Pan con tomato, Spanish chorizo, batatas bravas… mmmm

We’ve been to Barcelona a few times, every time we go we take the same food tour – it’s the best one we’ve ever done, anywhere in the world! Taking food tour is one of our favorite ways to explore a city and it’s culture, this one truly is the best – Its called TASTE Barcelona . Its a walking food tour that includes all your food and drink and a really neat tour of the city. Run by a husband and wife team – highly recommended. Here’s some of the treats that await on the tour

There’s just so much to explore in the culinary world of Barcelona, is it any wonder I constantly fall back to this city for inspiration. A few more shots from cafe visits around the city

This is making me hungry.. until next time Barcelona!!
